My guess is they had 1-2 jurors still iffy on MS when they asked the question earlier. may not have been to convict, but thinking it through. but after they didnt come back with the question, I knew they were close and it was going be not guilty.

Im thinking the original theory by many here was correct..the lone hispanic woman on the jury wanted to convict Zimmerman of manslaughter, so the jury wanted the judge to give that juror the info she needed on manslaughter..once they went back in to deliberate they convinced her to acquit..I was scared to death but sometimes people get it wrong and assume wrong when it comes to what the jury asks
