So, having this trial doesn’t bother me so much if it hadn’t come about the way it came about.

So, anyone who exercises their right to self defense should be bankrupted by the police state prosecutors?

No, I think any claim to self-defense must be put under extreme scrutiny. Especially if it’s a family member, friend, or associate who is killed.

Claiming self-defense shouldn’t be an automatic free pass.

The fact that BDLR, Corey, et al. have grossly abused the legal process doesn't mean there shouldn't be a legal process. The legislation that defined SYG hearings intended that they be smaller affairs than full-fledged trials, and I think it also provided some reimbursement of legal expenses in at least some self-defense-related cases.
