Concealed carry has not been enacted in Chicago yet despite a recent court order and passage of a highly restrictive concealed carry law. The Attorney General is still prosecuting legal gun owners who carry concealed in Chicago outside their homes.
I'd argue what the State Legislature passed and over-rode Governor Quinn with isn't even a conceal/carry law. NOWHERE in the legislation that was passed is ANY Illinois Citizen able to carry a concealed loaded-weapon outside their home.
What passed is a "fanny pack" law. You can carry a handgun in a fanny pack, but it must be unloaded. You can carry ammunition on your person to "load the gun" when needed, but carrying a loaded weapon? Uh uh.
So here's what's gonna happen: "Wait Mr. Robber/Rapist/Burgler/Muderer! I have to load my handgun first to defend myself, because I'm a law-abiding citizen."
To which Robber/Rapist/Burbler/Murderer has their way with you as you fumble to load your weapon.
I cannot WAIT for this POS that the State Legislature to get appealed and over-turned by the Federal Appeals Court. Maybe then we'll have Constitutional Carry.
