He will get there. First, he obliterates the Murder2. Now, he will obliterate Manslaughter.

If he is found not guilty of murder because of self defense then he can't be found guilty of manslaughter. The only way they can find him guilty of manslaughter is if they find him not guilty of murder due to lack of intent or some other reason. If self defense is the reason he fired then he can't be guilty of either charge.
