My immediate thought on hearing this was that they were doing a final check to see if there was any evidence that supported a guilty verdict. Just a gut feeling, and may be way off.

Sounds like maybe they elected a forewoman and then decided othey’ll use the evidence list as a “master” to work through all items and ensure they’ve discussed everything. I suspect they haven’t discussed anything beyond the process they’ll use to deliberate so far.
