Apparently he does not know the law. They can’t if he’s found not guilty by self defense.

Actually, any Federal charges are unrelated to the outcome of the state trial. However, I wonder if they will really try to bring civil rights charges, knowing that Trayvon's history will be a much bigger issue in that trial than in this one.

The federal civil rights violation case only works if he is operating under the cover of law. He wasn’t. That’s a major difference between this and the King trial.

Your options are more limited when you are being beaten by cops than by a private citizen.
