“Judge is making 2nd degree murder sound like it’s a casual charge.”

Shouldn’t the jurors ALSO know what the potential prison sentences are for each of those verdict options?

Yes, but the jury won’t know the potential prison sentences and that’s so unfair!

Only relevant if they are working on a compromise verdict.

Can’t they ask for direction from the judge once they have the instructions, and have deliberated , or even before that.

To not tell jurors the impact of their potential decisions is in my mind “ criminal” in and of itself.
