Today, July 12th, is DAY #24 (of 5th week) State of Florida V. George Zimmerman case.

Today the defense attorney, Mark O’Mara will present his closing argument. Then the prosecution rebuttal.

Original Dude; this seems to be an effective argument. Remember, the state was supposed to prove the case in closing, not tell the jury “to decide”.

There were a couple. The usual prosecution cheerleaders.
Yes, the prosecution essentially changed their story mid-trial. At the beginning, they pegged GZ as an out-of-control mad man who stalked Martin and killed him because he had too much melatonin in his epidermis. But at some point during the defense phase, they acknowledged that Martin somehow accidentally ended up on top, and upon realizing that, in flailing desperation began the process of rapid retreat when Zimmerman drew his weapon and fired the fatal shot.
“My thought is what they found ‘like part of an awning’ was part of the scissor frame of a portable awning. They are shaped like a ‘slim jim’ but typically a bit thicker. Being a LEO, I think he would have said it was conclusively a ‘slim jim’ if it was.”
My point is, was there actually any awning, portable or otherwise, there? I’ve seen many pics and videos of the area and I don’t recall seeing any awning of any kind. Normally, there are deed restrictions as to what one can “put up” outside of one’s dwelling.
And it wouldn’t be the first time a LEO in Florida might have “misconstrued” the truth and the evidence.
Good riddance to them.
