I hear ya, but it still seems strange. My experience — granted 35 yrs ago — was a lot of racial discord. Plus, a lot of leftist strategists/brainiacs...think WU or SDS. Didn’t one of those groups originate in Port Huron? Maybe Det is just where “they” send out the leftist marching orders!

There's plenty of racial discord, but Zimmerman isn't the power keg there. It's the Emergency Manager Law that has more folks angry. If a Trayvon situation happened in Detroit (nor better yet Livonia or a white community), then it would be a major deal. Zimmerman/Martin is down in Florida 1500 miles away.

Port Huron (Actually Lakeport - Burtchville Twp) was just a meeting spot for the 60's leftists which were more active at the college areas like Wayne State (part of Detroit), Ann Arbor, and East Lansing. Romney won every Burtchville Twp precinct. That's up in the Thumb anyway which isn't the Detroit area.
