The second degree murder trial of George Zimmerman in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin took a bizarre turn tonight as the judge presiding over the case stormed out of her courtroom over the objections of defense attorneys.
Judge Nelson had heard several hours of after hours arguments on proposed defense evidence and witnesses.
As the 10 o'clock hour drew near, Nelson announced the court would be in recess until 8 a.m. tomorrow, prompting objections from defense attorneys O'Mara and West that would not give them time to prepare for the day. Nelson told them she didn't want the jury to have to wait like they did this morning. As West complained that he physically could not keep up the pace the judge was forcing on the defense Nelson bolted from her chair and stormed out of the courtroom.

Question: If Zimmerman is convicted, is he jailed until they hear for mis-trial? I suspect yes.
He can’t go to jail and live.
Wow, even this behavior doesn’t show some kind of bias or favoritism?
It was, and has been, and continues to be very painful to watch the defense get shafted over and over again by this corrupt judge and prosecution. Don West almost lost it completely, even O’Mara, while trying to restrain West, was begging that bull-dyke to hear them out. Frustrating, as I’ve been covering this exhaustively and I’m so ready for it to be over.
A woman judge. Great. What do we expect but hysterics from a woman—especially one invested in the pressure from “above” to convict this innocent man? I’m a woman, and I know this. Everyone can bite me if they disagree with this assessment about a woman judge.
It’s very hard and frustrating to watch. I really feel for the whole defense team. This is getting ridiculous.

It was about time.
She’s biased partly ‘cause she’s scared. Nothing to stop them from coming after her if there’s a verdict favorable to Zimmerman. He will have a price in his head, so will she, and the jurors. It’s a no-win situation.
The judge is just following orders and is doing anything she can to tilt the scales towards conviction.

The judge did not storm out of the courtroom imo. However, friction between the judge and the defense was very apparent, imo, the defense making it clear that it needed more time to prepare for the next day than the judge would allow.
This judge has been a joke from the start. She is doing anything she can to help the state convict this innocent man.

she is going to attempt to write a order that will not be reversed. not that she was ever upheld in this case when her opinion was upheld.
Poor Zimmerman. I wish none of this had happened.
I wish you were right about the “very soon” part. Unfortunately, it’s probably going to take a long time, with deteriorating conditions.
Local news reports the trial will now resume at 9 a.m. tomorrow.
