The Domiinican Republic is a nation on the island of Hispaniola, in the Caribbean region. The western third of the island is occupied by the nation of Haiti, making Hispaniola an island with two nations.
Weird thing that Dominican Republic that has a very high standard of living would share it with one of the poorest nations in the western hemisphere.

On the queer ambassadors: Why the Dominican Republic? Right next door is Haiti, where homosexual rituals are often part of the local voodoo cult ceremonies. One would think the queer ambassadors might enjoy that.
