Circulating in Egypt:

· CHEER UP AND BE PROUD!

We’ve stood up to the western world and to the United Nations in their condemnation and indictment of the shooting of those “innocent peaceful protesters”; we have written letters, Op eds., signed petitions, tweeted, posted online, created posters, yelling at and blasting Obama, McCain, Graham, Kerry, Hagel, Patterson, Ashton, Ban Ki Moon, Merkel and Hollande (have I left out anyone?) for betting on the wrong horse; we have Morsi and some of his thugs and colleagues in custody and have just arrested the MB’s spiritual leader and assassin-in-chief; we have broken up the sit-ins at Rab3a and el-Nahda and have gotten rid of a few terrorists and have others on the run; we have a great and courageous leader in General El-Sissi and a determined dream-team for an interim government; we have unmasked a vice-president who turned out to be a professional hide-and-seek artist who could not stand the heat and had to get out of the kitchen; we told the foreign media that they’re a bunch of good-for-nothings and set them straight by bombarding them with “evidence” of misdeeds by the “peaceful pro-Morsi Brotherhood protesters”, by pointing out for the umpteenth time that Morsi was not “democratically elected”, that we rose in unison to topple this sorry “regime” because we were tired of being taken for a ride by a bunch of criminals who conspired to sell Egypt to the highest bidder (more on that later: stay tuned) and, that this toppling did not constitute a coup and what part of THAT do you not understand?; we did not succumb to pressure or intimidation and told “them” to shove their AID, that we didn’t have time for joint military games because we are too busy ridding our Sinai of bad people instead of hosting them at the Guantanamo Resort & Spa at the American taxpayers’ expense; we’ve received pledges of financial assistance from oil-wealthy Arab nations that, by comparison, make western AID look like a child in diapers; oh, and incidentally, remember the postponement of the F-16s? we do. Putin is waiting with bated breath and the Chinese are eager to pay us a visit. Now let’s talk about aircraft carriers and warships going through our Suez Canal and no-clearance fly-over rights in Egyptian airspace. We can play that game very well.

We are determined to see our revolution through to the bitter end and to eradicate the scum that has been polluting our lives with medieval notions and regressive ideas; and yes, we have tragically lost and continue to lose precious lives in our quest for freedom, liberty and dignity but that’s the price we must pay.

We have nowhere to go but up. So, all in all, let’s try to look for the sun above the clouds; the rain will be over sooner than we think.
