The full news report just aired. The guy is a WW-II vet, has a number of vintage tanks and other armaments sitting in his yard that he has restored. This particular one, a miniature tank, (not sure what it really is but maybe an APC) has a mounted machine gun converted to compressed gas which shoots flames and makes lound bangs.

Last night he and his buddies took it out on the road while all the neighborhood fireworks were going off and somebody panicked and called the cops on him.

Considering the nature of the machinegun shooting, I suppose I would have called the cops too but only to to protect the guy against return fire.

The cops in turn should have just intercepted him and told him to get his vehicle off the road and back into his yard but no, they had to arrest him.

Having grown up in a rural community in northern MI, the later would have happened but in this upscale community of Macomb County, the cops had to do what they had to do........

I personally would have enjoyed it a great deal but yes, its best that the neighbors know what’s going on first.
