I am guessing the guy is a member of the MVPA (Military Vehicle Preservation Association) and a car (truck) collector. I have a half dozen trucks and bikes from WWII and Vietnam. My guess it was idiot or ignorant cops.
Got pulled over a couple years age and was told the gun I had in the car was stolen in Dallas a year before. I had owned that gun for ten years. Turned out that after he got backup he found out which number was the serial number, (he even had to ask me) and I was released.
BTW, If you was to see a bunch of privately owned vintage military collector trucks, the national convention is in Portland, OR at the end of the month.
There are great cops and there are ignorant cops. Its seems the ratio is shifting in an obvious direction.
I recently joined MVPA and saw the Oregon thing in the magazine. Maybe another year. I’m going to Oshkosh for the first time this year.
That show would give me a second reason to go to Oregon. I’ve got an aunt and uncle out there that I haven’t seen in a long time.
I love old vehicles, especially military but don’t own any. I have an erratically running 1965 Willys jeep in the carport. Dad has a 5 ton 6x6 sitting in a barn in very good condition.
