Hell yes! Just the broken nose alone would have been legal grounds for self-defense. But the pummeling and smothering and bashing the head on the concrete just convinced GZ that his life was in danger. And then TM reached for his gun.

While the emphasis on injuries to the back of his head have even been called "insignificant" from a ME who didn't even work the case, just the picture of the nose with the common sense to infer further injuries to come would be strong self defense.
