Actually, a not guilty verdict has not legal implication for a civil lawsuit because the standard of proof is different

Florida's self-defense laws stipulate that when a person is found to have acted in self defense, he is immune from any civil suit. This is why it's important to Crump and Trayvon's parents that Zimmerman is found guilty on SOMETHING.
