$9 per month if I want to opt out of the smart meter and that’s before they’ve even started installing them here. Give them a few years and I’m sure they’ll quickly hit $20 or $30 per month to opt out.

And eventually a $10,000 fine and 1 year in jail (felony). Of course, federal government officials will be exempt.

A few years? They just installed my Southern California Edison "Big Brother" meter 6 months ago and from the git-go it cost $35/mo. to opt out. In a few years it'll be $100/mo. or more here. I'd love to leave this insane state but...it's complicated.
