Freedom!!
It's what we're fighting for.
Never give in, never give up, never surrender!!
We are the resistance!!
And as you all know, FR is funded solely by the donations provided by the people who love and use it. We accept no advertising or corporate sponsors. We sell no merchandise or memberships. We are not a 501c and are not subsidized by the government. It's just us INDEPENDENT freedom loving citizens exercising our first amendment rights free of any political party, government or outside influences.
So please keep those donations coming in folks. With Obama's government pulling out all stops on the road to fundamentally transforming America (to a communist state), we need FR now more than ever to keep it free! Make it a monthly if you can.

God bless.

"The flag is customarily flown all year-round at most public buildings, and it is not unusual to find private houses flying full-size flags.
Some private use is year-round, but becomes widespread on civic holidays like Memorial Day, Veterans Day, Presidents' Day, Flag Day, and on Independence Day.
On Memorial Day it is common to place small flags by war memorials and next to the graves of U.S. war veterans. Also on Memorial Day it is common to fly the flag at half staff, until noon, in remembrance of those who lost their lives fighting in U.S. wars."source: Wikipedia

"The design of the flag has been modified 26 times officially, since 1777. The 48-star flag was in effect for 47 years until the 49-star version became official on July 4, 1959. The 50-star flag was ordered by President Eisenhower on August 21, 1959."source: Wikipedia

Okay...so other nations do have days known as "Independence Day". I stand duly corrected.
But I noticed, while there are a couple of countries (oddly enough, Venezuela is one of them) that will celebrate their Independence or National Day tomorrow, is the 5th of July anything special for us? No...just as I imagine the 4th of July is nothing to the people of Venezuela.
That's what I was getting at...today is our Independence Day, but to everyone else, it's only the 4th of July.

"In a remarkable coincidence, both John Adams and Thomas Jefferson, the only signers of the Declaration of Independence later to serve as Presidents of the United States, died on the same day: July 4, 1826, which was the 50th anniversary of the Declaration. Although not a signer of the Declaration of Independence, but another Founding Father who became a President, James Monroe, died on July 4, 1831, thus becoming the third president in a row who died on this memorable day. Calvin Coolidge, the 30th President, was born on July 4, 1872, and, so far, is the only President to have been born on Independence Day."source: Wikipedia
