I thought that it was just fine until I read that it can’t be grown in the U.S. ( unless it was maybe grown at a university marijuana facility) in which case it is NOT appropriate for the 4th.

EXACTLY!

Denying someone the use of their property is a taking of that property and violates the 5th Amendment.

You should be able to grow opium poppies if you want to.
