Secular. Protecting the right/safety of the minority Christians...ruthlessly hunting down the Islamic terrorists and extremists...and keeping the peace with Israel.
If the military is successful...and I believe they will be...that is where Egypt will return to.
Don't know if you caught it yesterday, but one of the opposition leaders was being interviewed on FOX, and was asked if he was planning on running for president. He explained that he was a Christian, and the constitution banned him from running. Wonder how man y knew that?
Unless they replace the madrassas, that "return" will be only temporary. There is a way to do that, and quickly, via the Internet.
It’s not entirely just good timing that forced the hand of the Egyptian army. The European news guys noted several times recently that the Egyptian economy has been disrupted by Morsi/MB/fake constitution/sharia law/etc. so much that the Army was running out of money to operate on. If the economy can’t be restored the army is out of business. The money we send them isn’t actual cash but mostly credits they can use to buy US made hardware————all that high-minded ideology flies right out the window when the money dries up.
