No need for testiness, we are all FReepers.
A Cable Lock is one thing a Trigger Lock is another. A safety is something different from the others, There are also “Bore Locks”. There is also Wall Mounted Trigger Locks, to secure the gun to a non movable object and insure weapon can not be removed or fired.
On my revolvers In can remove the cylinders secure a cable lock through the barrell an still have action with trigger.

The”BRIGHT RED TRIGGER LOCK’ is really a cable lock.

Now discussing Crump’s deposition. Defense wants to take it on Thurs or Friday but Crump is only offering Sunday.

I didn't think anyone was getting 'testy'. I didn't feel that way, nor did I think VRWC.F.T. was either.

We are just comparing our 'view' of the evidence and hopefully coming to a common understanding.

A Cable Lock is one thing a Trigger Lock is another.

And you are 100% correct. I apologize to readers and especially to VRWCForTruth for using an ambiguous term and not being able to remember the actual name of that type of gun lock. CABLE LOCK. Thank you GOYAKLA.

Now that you have involved yourself in our debate, may I ask you, what is the purpose of that type of LOCK ?
