Something my wife could tell you I've been saying all along. If Zimmerman had not shot Martin, Martin would have first shot Zimmerman, then gone on and shot somebody else as well.

No doubt, had Zimmerman been shot and killed, Martin would have stolen the gun and fled (certainly not standing around waiting for police as Zimmerman did).

There is no telling what a criminal such as Martin would use that notched gun for later that evening or any other subsequent day.
