A day after the Senate passed its immigration bill, RNC Chair Reince Priebus claimed there was "broad consensus" in the Republican party for "comprehensive immigration reform."
"We need comprehensive immigration reform," Priebus told CNN's Peter Hamby on Friday. "I don't think we can continue to drift along with this mess of immigration laws that we have. And a mess that in many regards has been the results of our government not even enforcing the laws that are in place. There is plenty of blame to go around for why we are in this position, but I think it's about time that we address it."
He then asserted it was "clear that there is pretty broad consensus in the party, in the Republican Party, that we need comprehensive immigration reform" and said he knew the House leadership is "committed" to drafting a comprehensive bill.
Republican House leaders have indicated that they will not take up the Senate's bill, but have signalled they will draft "comprehensive" legislation they hope to pass in order to go to conference with the Senate. Conservatives, though, would like a narrower approach that focuses primarily on securing--and funding--border security first.

And the RNC wonders why I don't give them any of my money anymore.
Rank Prepuce? Does the Navy still give shots for that ?
You can substitute any word for the useless phrase “comprehensive immigration reform.”
Like this:
RNC Chair Reince Priebus claimed there was “broad consensus” in the Republican party for “Skittles.”
There’s ‘’broad consensus’’ for comprehensive immigration reform in the DEMOCRATIC PARTY. That’s why every Senate Democrat voted for the Immigration Bill.
On the other hand, only 15 Republicans out of 47 voted for the immigration bill. That’s a minority, NOT a ‘’broad consensus.’’ And to say that it is is a LIE.
Why doesn’t Sarah Palin announce, a la Ronald Reagan, ‘’The Republican party has left me, so I’m no longer a member of the Republican party. I’m now an Independent. If you feel the same way, join me, and we’ll start another party.’’?
Or Hoosiers!
“All our donors who hire cheap labor want this! So screw our voters...”
Yeah. Reince is a genius...
Rancid Priebus? The loser who got re-hired after losing?
Here is the so-called ‘broad consensus’ that Reince managed to find.
Karl Rove wants amnesty
The Fox RINOS want amnesty
The Bush-bots want amnesty
This is the puke establishment we need to fumigate. The problem we have is all of these RNC snake-oil salesman who’ll seemingly do anything in order to lose. Why are these Bush people still hanging around? How long did it take for the Gerald Ford consultants to finally drop off the radar?
George Bush is gone. We don’t want his stupid brother ‘Hispanics are more fertile’ Jeb. We don’t want amnesty. Reince can go get a job selling vacuums. The RNC does NOT represent conservatives!
I’d call him delusional, but I don’t think he is. I think he’s simply a world-class liar.
Where do they get these people from? Darien? New Canaan used to be William Buckley’s home—he would be appalled by the GOP these days.
Not securing the border is why we have an immigration problem. Control the border first then round up the illegal criminal element and either lock them up or send them back where they came from. Think of the savings in education, social security and medical cost.
Does this look like a “broad consesus”?

Bears repeating!
Sarah’s ‘Freedom Party’ is about four years overdue. Better late than never though!
