Egyptian security and medical officials say an American has been killed in the Mediterranean coastal city of Alexandria during clashes between supporters and opponents of Egypt's embattled President Mohammed Morsi.

Alexandria security chief Gen. Amin Ezz Eddin told Al-Jazeera TV that an American was killed Friday in Sidi Gabr Square while photographing the battles between opposition youth and members of the Muslim Brotherhood, from which Morsi hails.

A medical official told The Associated Press the American was wounded by gunshots and died at the hospital.

Six Egyptians have been killed in days of clashes ahead of nationwide protests Sunday demanding Morsi's removal.

SNIP

The State Department said Friday that Americans should defer nonessential travel to Egypt, citing the uncertain security situation. It also said it would allow nonessential staff and the families of personnel at the U.S. Embassy in Cairo to leave Egypt until conditions improve.

Guess we have to give their bimbos a little slack since our own bimbos voted for “O” as well and just as disturbing.

Once again, unfortunately we have an American student who happens to be a Jew set his ideals on helping the cause of peace abd understanding (in the Arab Muslim world???) by teaching English to help advance these Neanderthals.

With all due respect to this foolish kid and his family, how many times have we seen hopelessly niave and stupid (what Lenin called) “Useful idiots” get killed by the very people they are trying to help?

This guy apparently was a Jewish, Liberal, maybe Left-leaning bleeding heart who gave of himself to help these scum. Why won't people snap out of their naivete’?

Alexandria was one of the great centers for learning in the ancient world until the dumbf**ks burned the Great Library tot eh ground. What has changed in the Muslim and Arab world since the time of Ptolemy? Answer...nothing.

This poor kid set his own trap and fell into it like so many other useful idiots before him, too bad really.

<...”This poor kid set his own trap and fell into it like so many other useful idiots before him, too bad really”....>

Yes he did...but then Missionaries also do likewise...though I doubt the kid ever thought his life would be in danger since he had such good motives of “helping”..

There are many like him today who do not understand the risk...but they do see the potential glory they might achieve.

I have often wondered why our young people go overseas to assist when there are certainly children and people in this country they could help. But then I guess the USA doesn’t offer the “thrill” of being abroad to them.

Am sorry he lost his life...but I am not surprised any American overseas today could. The nations are unstable..and their are foreigners in every land...in mass.

Ever since “Peace Corps”, the very idea of going to exotic lands and helping the impoverished has been a ideal.

I agree totally, the time has come to volunteer within the USA and get some kind of credit (maybe academic?) for doing so.

Never heard of foreigners going to an Israeli kibbutz as a volunteer as a laborer and getting hurt...

El Baradi is a “moderate”, tie-wearing, Egyptian playing a Westerner and even even won the Nobel Peace Prize for (of all things) in his role as the head of the IAEA. Under his leadership the Iranians moved towards Nuclear capability. Why did he get the peace prize??? Then again, one can ask, why did Obama get the peace prize as well?

Now he wants to be Egypt's ruler with Amir Musa (another self-serving Egyptian elitist). These guys are scum but less so than the Muslim Brotherhood.

Thank you for your posts and pictures.

Latest in Egypt:

An Egyptian professor of political science in Cairo University said on “Own TV” Channel:

“The rudderless American foreign and domestic policy of the 0b0z0 Administration FLIPS and acknowledges the right of the Egyptian people to express themselves. The opposition [to Morsi] should have a “dialogue” to bring about reforms. Their support for the Ikhwan is waning.”

He continued: “The American Administration is watching closely the developments in Egypt.”

The professor and the anchor conversation summary:
Sounds eerily close to what happened in 2011 prior to dumping Mubarak. The Americans are trying to show that they are not interfering in internal Egyptian affairs BUT THEY ARE!

The Americans are saying that they are in close contact with Egypt through “regular” channels that includes the Egyptian military.

The people will NOT allow Egypt to become the failed state that is fast-approaching. MORSI AND HIS IKHWAN RULE WILL NOT STAND!

End of summary....

Latest on Egyptian TV:

Security forces captured cars full of weapons and Ikhwan heading to different demonstration sites.

The security forces showed the weapons and the perps IDs on the screen. All the IDs are bearded except one or two who were “in disguise!” By being clean shaven!

A guest on the TV program suggested to multiply the number of people anywhere by the area of the small place and extrapolate to come up with a number in millions of demonstrators.

The guest challenged Dr. Engineer Morsi to use his expertise in math and science to do it if he is able to calculate. He told Morsi, once you have a preliminary calculation, you’ll have to go!

Latest from “Own TV” channel:

http://www.livestream.com/ontveglive

“A bomb exploded yesterday in Martyrs Square in Port Said killing one young man and injuring 20 others. Limbs of the injured could be seen in the the explosion site.”

Apparently, Morsi isn’t in the Ettihadeyya Palace (=WH here, in more ways than one!) He’s probably in Qubba Palace ~ 10 miles away.

It was reported that “Morsi is meeting with regime personnel to SECURE THE SAFETY OF DOMONSTRATORS WHO HAVE DIVERSE OPINIONS!

The comment on the program is that Morsi is trying to belittle the majority of the Egyptian people by drawing an untrue and unfair moral equivalence.

Reports of demonstrations in USA, France and Australia demanding Morsi’s “departure.”

If the MSM were 1/100 of the open Egyptian media, we wouldn’t have had 0b0z0, let alone his reelection!

Yes, “El Baradi is a “moderate”, tie-wearing, Egyptian playing a Westerner”......

But as said...’still scum’...he will serve no purpose for the Egyptian people regardless of what he states. He’d turn in a heartbeat to serve his own interests.

Good point and true.

Wall to wall people in Egypt today....but wonder how long before the masses become violent? Morsi will not go peacefully.

I suspect they'll move Morsi frequently...it's about the only way to keep him safe. I would not be surprised if eventually he's out of the country itself as this thing escalates....and no doubt as night approaches there will be trouble. These people like to burn things.
