I used to be quite proud of my penmanship, but after using a computer for so long it has atrophied and now I write like a caveman.

Mine did too. Back in the 50s, I'd bring a note into school excusing my absence and without fail, my teachers would always comment on her penmanship.
Then they'd look at me and ask why mine was so bad. Sigh ...

My great grandfather's declaration of intent to become an American citizen. His handwriting is legible but his signature is spectacular.
