Charging interest is fine, but doubling it, or however high it is going to go, is absurd.
Don't like the interest rate? Don't borrow the money.
Don't like the tuition? Don't go to that school.
Let the market find the proper costs and rates without gov't interference.

Let the market find the proper costs and rates without gov't interference. Don't bring capitalism into this. The underlying mission of student loans is to funnel subsidized low cost money from students into the campaign pockets of liberal politicians via money laundering colleges and universities paying big salaries to profs and admins who contribute the money.
