Turn the car off. Burn up the brakes stopping it. Put it in low gear and blow up the transmission.

Explained “red lights came on dash so he coasted into Service station and tried to put water in radiator thinking it had overheated.” Service station was flooded with oil and water before he figured it was something else!

What if the reason you were driving fast in the first place was because you were being chased by shady characters with guns ?
I drove 15 miles from my wife’s employer to the Ford/Mercury dealership, in traffic, in a 1972 Mercury Capri with a jammed accelerator pedal. Fortunately, it was a stick-shift so I was able to use the clutch and the brakes to control my speed. The service manager at the dealership said he heard me coming from the other end of downtown, about a mile and a half away.
