I didn't want them to mess with the chocolate cupcakes. Those were my favorites ever since I was a little girl. Next I loved the Snoballs.
Well anyway, the Tribune did a pretty decent job of it. Apollo is on the stock exchange, Metroupolos is a private investor. The stock could be doing better if more people knew this was one of their enterprises. Any articles you will find about Apollo (and they have associated companies with different ticker symbols so don't get them mistaken) mentions nothing about any of this, just generalized information about their global investments.
People in Kansas are happy to get their old jobs back I read in a KS local paper yesterday, think it is Emporia. There is nothing to stop them from re-unionizing down the line.
I saw some new products that looked like Hostess and wondered if some old employees stole the recipe. They look different and taste terrible. I thought Little Debbie not too bad in a pinch. I love the raspberry coconut bars. Shouldn't eat too much of the stuff.
And Beefsteak which I loved, the black Russian rye, went to Flowers so I doubt I'll see it on the shelves here. Pepperidge Farm is good if they're aren't out. It makes yummy grilled cheese sandwiches.
Hostess and I go back to my childhood with a plant here and outlet stores. We had the bread in the polka dot package. It's moist and spongy. My father finally said it wasn't fit to eat. That was before I knew what really good white bread should taste like. But the smells that wafted off that plant on baking day were heavenly. The plant is still here; I don't know what they will do with it.
So that's why I take such an interest in this particular enterprise and wish them well.
There is nothing to stop them from re-unionizing down the line.
except that they can look back in history to see the outcome...
