Television chef Paula Deen, who lost her gig Friday with the Food Network after admitting and apologizing for having used racial epithets, including the “N-word,” is a supporter of President Barack Obama, campaigning on his behalf in 2008 and cultivating a friendship with first lady Michelle Obama.

Agreed. She may be off-color, like miss piggy Betty White, but to destroy a person’s livelyhood over the use of a word, is not right. People hurt, jobs lost, just not fair.
I have always liked that lady. She reflects everything that was good about the south and our values over generations; God, family, church,respect for all men,just a great way of life you would only find in the South. Many children were reared with these exact values for many years and some even helped shape the country in a kinder gentler time.
She also seemed to reflect everything the regime would like to destroy. All those historical values we will never give up here in the Deep South, God, family and Apple pie. Paul Deen "seemed" to reflect all those values. "Seems" I was wrong all along.
She is a communist and a stain on America.

The word aptly describes the current administration, but of course we should not mention that.
Although many refuse to use the word the thought is in the mind.
Of course it is a mortal sin to discuss that. Eric Holder was right we are all we are afraid to openly discuss the racial problems with this president, and his picks for top offices.

He has his moments but all too often he comes off as waay toooo contrived. Also its always about him and his analysis of the food seems like the same ol' shtick every time. All in all though I do watch a lot of those shows.

She is to be an example. I am old enough to remember Joe McCarthy (barely)...this is no different. Back then even Stevenson liberals were suspect of being “fellow travelers”. Today, conservatives are being tarred by this administration and their media supporters...as “racists”.
Deen is being made a practical example of how your life can be ruined...she is white, older, and southern. And at least once said a “bad” word. Therefore she must be put outside of normal society.
The communists in Russia used this very, same technique. Expect more of it.

It's pretty obvious to me that Paula Deen probably doesn't have a mean bone in her body. Most everything she says could easily be morphed into Christian or Conservative values yet she thinks she has to reach out to the obambas who will use the hell out of her in a chicago thugbeat.

I heard it. I used it. But a long time ago. Now when I hear it in conversation, it hurts my ears. It is in that mental lockbox with a couple of other words.
They are the “nuclear” option words. You can use them, I guess, but the conversation is over—and you lost.

I did not say it should be used. I said it was often used years ago without risk of job loss, hurtful as it may have been. I’ll never understand how blacks use it freely today.
