Don’t think states can regulate interstate commerce.

Read “if they wish to sell product in the Golden State” again.
It’s not interstate commerce.

Dont think states can regulate interstate commerce. I agree. The Founding States made the Commerce Clause (Constitution's Article I, Section 8, Clause 3) to give Congress the power to referee interstate trade disputes.
It's also not suprising that this Constitution-ignoring state legislation is coming from California. CA legislators are possibly unaware of the Commerce Clause as opposed to deliberately ignoring it.
State lawmakers in all states have also probably forgotten that their predecessors gave up the unique control of the federal Senate by state lawmakers as a consequence of ratifying the 17th Amendment.

The big Texas secret is that we bring in ‘lawmakers’ once every two years for a limited time and then send them home instead of letting them set around Austin dreaming up new laws and regulations... Important limited agenda sessions can be called by the Governor...

Right on that. I am a Californication native and resident, and I say to hell with California's stupid laws on LIVESTOCK.
I will raise my hogs, beefs, and chickens the way I see fit.
Don't hold with animal cruelty and would never tolerate it in livestock or pets; but I will raise my livestock as I see fit.
They are here by the grace of GOD to feed me and my family, their destiny is the dinner table!
Good feed, good life and appropriate space during their lives, protection from four footed predators.
At the end; a swift and as painless as possible death, then butchered in a clean and competent manner and prepared for the dinner table.

CA’s not. Merely regulating commerce within its state.
King is off base here.

They do all the time with their goofy regs and licensing requirements. It’s the whole reason the Commerce Clause exists - to make America on giant free trade zone.
