If the shake-shingles weren’t dried out and loose, I’d climb up there.

Each time you cut one of the main vine’s shoots, 4-10 new shoots come up from the root system to compensate.

Keep cutting it back until fall. Makes it easter to paint the leaves with the systemic herbicide, at lower levels.

You must paint the leaves; pouring it into the root system alone, won’t work. The leaves will carry the poison back to the main rootball, and kill it.

If you’re still there, just do the painting as I suggested in #109, before frost, using a wad or paper towels or small brush.

Since you are a guy, I’ll bet you never used an Iron on your hair as a straightener? I did. Iron’s have so many uses other than clothes. They do make a mean grilled cheese. We were not allowed to use the stove while parents were gone, so we improvised.

But I will admit on this thread, that sometimes we did turn on the gas stove and toast marshmellows with a fork while the parents were gone.

I did google latest wiki stats. Is a small town, low family income. Right in the heart of Texas.

Get the leaves ‘painted’ with a systemic herbicide, just before frost, and they’ll carry the poison back to the underground root system, and kill it.

Oh right on! Yummy. Couldn’t build a campfire in the backyard. Parents would have seen that.

I have 9 “grandcritters”. Kids just out of college, still in college, just graduated from High School. None married yet, so all their pets that live with me right now (rescue cats and dogs) call me “grandma”. lol

Good for tree stumps, but not for vines. We used to blow stumps in the fields.

I once used a CAT D9 Dozer to take out a 100ft x 200ft bed of ivy, and the underground vines were so thick and dense, the debris pile was 250-300ft long x 30-40ft high, no soil attached. It was massive, by the time we got it all out with backhoes & trackhoes, and we burned it.

Where’d you find that one? I searched www.icecreamsource.com and got zero. Sounds good.
