‘police had absolutely no authority to even be on the woman’s property’

Are you serious? If a postman can come to your door and delivery a package, a cop can come to the same door. If a meter reader can walk onto your property, a cop can do the same.
Police do not need a warrant to talk to somebody.

And without a warrant, if asked to leave, they must leave.

There was no immediate threat to anyone’s life or property. Even if the police officer was investigating a crime, they have procedures to follow.

For all intents and purposes, it appears he/they didn’t follow them.
