When I lived in Indianapolis, the guy next door ran one of those "police and fire charities". His wife bought new furniture for their house every 6 months. They had 4 cars, none of which was over a year old.

I give to 2 charities:

My church

St. Jude Children's Hospital.

I only give to local events that I know the people running them and church. I give to no national charity.
