I don't recognize the America I grew up in and love anymore.
Does the day end with a Y? Then I’m flying my flag. Sometimes it’s red, white and blue, sometimes it’s yellow with a snake on it.
I’m with you.
I use Facebook to keep in contact with family. My profile pic carries the flag today. I cannot put one up in this apartment complex.
Every day 24/7 and yes it is lighted.
A flag has been flying by the front door since the Iranian hostage crisis. It has been replaced with a new one many times. It flies with more meaning these days, tho.
I’m flying two flags on my dock—the American Flag on top and the Fort Moultrie Flag right underneath—and I do so every day.
Lot’s of folks stop and ask about the latter. After I explain the significance of it (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moultrie_Flag), they ask where they can get one: www.ultimateflags.com.
You're a grand old flag,
You're a high flying flag
And forever in peace may you wave.
You're the emblem of
The land I love.
The home of the free and the brave.
Ev'ry heart beats true
'neath the Red, White and Blue,
Where there's never a boast or brag.
But should auld acquaintance be forgot,
Keep your eye on the grand old flag.
And nice to see so much support for the scouts.
That’s right. The Boy Scouts have been put in a difficult spot.
It is the Scout leadership that needs reprimanding. The Scouts deserve support for being subjected to this.
The minute the election was called for Obama on Nov. 6, I went outside and pulled down my U.S. flag and replaced it with an Irish flag, which has been aloft ever since.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
Oh, say can you see by the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep,
Where the foe's haughty host in dread silence reposes,
What is that which the breeze, o'er the towering steep,
As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses?
Now it catches the gleam of the morning's first beam,
In full glory reflected now shines in the stream:
'Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
And where is that band who so vauntingly swore
That the havoc of war and the battle's confusion,
A home and a country should leave us no more!
Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps' pollution.
No refuge could save the hireling and slave
From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave:
And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand
Between their loved home and the war's desolation!
Blest with victory and peace, may the heav'n rescued land
Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation.
Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just,
And this be our motto: "In God is our trust."
And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave
O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave!
Yep
I fly the POW flag under Old Glory.
Yep.
My flag flies every day apart from inclement weather. My prayer of thanks to those paid the last full measure is every day, regardless of weather (meteorological or political).
Yes... I fly my flag...two spotlights...24\7 unless weather dictates otherwise.
However:
I am still waiting on my tax return...
because the EPA said the flag was polluting the sky’s natural color scheme...
who in turn contacted NASA who said the flag was a distraction for the airport that was close by...
who in turn contacted the FAA because I was causing undue dangers to approaching aircraft...
who in turn contacted the DHS because it could be part of a terrorist plot...
who in turn contacted the NSA who intercepted my FReeps and determined I was too conservative and not in line with Obama’s goals...
who in turn contacted the IRS who has an APB out on any conservatives and is determined to give them the run-around and an overall hard time about being an American citizen.
Funny thing is, for some reason the illegal alien living across town is flying the Mexican flag, and talking on his free Obama phone, while driving in his BMW that was bought with the tax return he was given as a tax credit for taxes he didn’t pay, heading to the store to buy whatever with his food stamps.
I have Flag Day on my phone calendar.
I fly the flag every day but today I added my Betsy Ross Flag (13 stars for Rio Linda FReepers)
Yes!
