My wife and I haven't gone to a movie theater in ten years. In that time, we've subscribed to HBO and other movie channels. The amount of good movies in the last 10-20 years has been minuscule. I hope the whole Hollyweird industry slides into the ocean...movies can't get any worse.

p.s. I like to watch old movies. I just watched "Jubal" with Glenn Ford, Ernest Borgnine, Rod Steiger, Charles Bronson and others. It has scenery from the Grand Tetons. Why would I want to watch crappy modern movies when there's plenty of good old flicks I've yet to see?

Exactly. Why sit through the remakes and sequels and general tripe they've been shoveling at us the last couple decades when there's a vast library of quality stuff produced last century? Screw 'em.

Netflix is good for that. There are several other sites like Netflix, either free or $8 or so a month. Get a puck like Roku or Apple TV to stream that or other Internet movies. I found a couple free sites that focus on old classics. With a sound bar hooked to your TV, you'll get a near theatre sound experience. When I want current movies, I'll pay the $3.99 or so to rent. Some current movies are discounted to $10 for purchase online; can then watch repeatedly. Far cheaper than going to a theater, without having your seat kicked from behind.

I haven’t been to a theater movie in years. The movies are just not good anymore.

I have a personal DVD collection of great western movies. Lots of Randolph Scott, Glen Ford, Allan Ladd.

I just got in the six movie set from TCM and watched SASKATCHEWAN last night. Glorious TECHNICOLOR!

I also have lots of the great dramas from the 1960s and lots of adventure movies.

El Cid
Fall of the Roman Empire
Waterloo
War and Peace (Russian version)
Khartoum
THE WAR LORD
Becket
Lion in Winter.

And lots of 1950s si-fi movie with hokey special effects. I love ‘em.

Why do I possibly need modern crap.
