My niece is in Monument. They have a 13 day old son. I hoped she would stay with her mom, my sister. My sister is only 8 miles from the fires, but I doubt the fire would burn that far in the city. My nieces in-laws have a beautiful home near Black Forrest. They have been evacuated. I was just there last week. I'm there several times a year to visit my sister & all her kids/grandkids and my one of my husband's offices is near Peterson AFB. I pray they contain this quickly.

Oh my—your family is very affected by this. Prayers for them!

My daughter saw their move west as an “adventure.” S-I-L wasn’t “happy” with his employment situation in PA so he decided to uproot and go to CO (did I mention they drove across country, I -70, during Winter Storm Q?) THAT is their level of “attention”’ to the world around them. It just scares me that they don’t know/understand the severity of what could be facing them.
