Agreed, I remember that too. I also remember at the time I considered it a promise kept. Nor will I argue the point that Beck is a bit of a showman. Perhaps he should have gone into the entertainment industry. Oh wait ...
But I really think the bigger problem, as you say, is not Beck at all. In a previous generation, it only took a whisper of a hint that GHW Bush was on the Trilateral Commission to fatally damage his campaign against Reagan. Nowadays Beck has a whole chalkboard full of the most insidious network of organizations ever arrayed against the Republic, and people complain its not enough to do any real damage to the bad guys.
And that is, as you say, a very poor reflection on the modern American public. Its a tough audience. Beck is my generation. He probably can’t believe how deep the public coma is, and perhaps he keeps hoping against hope that this next thing will finally break the deathly spell of sleep, and the public will revive and respond to the threat appropriately.
We don’t have long to wait to see if he is right. Meanwhile, only small people bite ankles. I’ll reserve judgment until I see the goods.

Even if he did release info that would bring down the government only those who listen to Beck would hear it. And most of those wouldn’t believe it.
If it did get out to the masses Rudy and Marco and Graham would scream “Beck is an alcoholic and didn’t graduate from high school”. Doesn’t matter if it’s true or not.
I agree 100%. Had the MSM media picked up the story, there would have been outrage. The Saudi guy was being protected ......and was later released, and no one cared (or even knew about it).
