With a headline like this, I find myself thinking From one traitor to another. Speaker of the House John Boehner (R-OH), another one of those Republicans that should probably be labeled a Democrat, referred to NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden as a traitor and called his actions a giant violation of the law. I actually chuckled a bit because this man has not even referred to the current occupant of the White House as a traitor.
Boehner appeared on Good Morning America on Tuesday declaring, Hes a traitor. The president outlined last week that these are important national security programs to help keep Americans safe and give us tools to help fight the terrorist threat we face. The disclosure of this information puts Americans at risk.
Boehner didnt go anywhere near the Constitution, specifically the Fourth Amendment. If I could just add, the spinelessness of this House Speaker and the treasonous actions of Barack Obama put Americans at risk!
Boehner went on to say that Congress was briefed on the programs that were being used and that attorneys were always present to protect the privacy of Americans.
There is heavy oversight of this program, by the House Intelligence Committee on a bipartisan basis and the Senate Intelligence Committee, Boehner said. And thats why I feel comfortable that we can operate this program and protect the privacy rights of our citizens.
What he did not note was whether warrants were issued for all snooping. That would be found in the Fourth Amendment Mr. Boehner, you know, part of that document you took an oath to defend and support?

“It makes me uncomfortable knowing when someone types, speaks or writes something purposefully or not might it be used against them when it was completely innocent.”
Agree. Lets see... The original Tea Party participants broke the law I believe. Those who ran the Underground Railroad broke the law. Pre 1964, Blacks who sat at white lunch counters, drank from white water fountains, used white restrooms, rode in front of buses, etc, etc, broke the law. List goes on and on. Point being that we Americans have a long and cherished tradition of breaking bad laws. Long live the tradition.....
Emmanuel Goldstein?
God forgive me, I hate these guys with a passion.
Dems & Pubs, hand in hand, protecting the one political party in the USA, the party of IVY League Incumbent Lawyers. You can’t kill off one party without killing off the other, I don’t care which goes first. Vote 3rd party, the Pubs are only a pretend opposition.
Pot, meet kettle.
You are a vile little human being, boehner. Does Obama have dirt on you too?
Dianne Feinstein and John Boehner agree. Forward, comrade!
And then flees to China for refuge? This is a complex story with much yet to be revealed. For instance, the reporter responsible for the story says he was working with the leaker before he joined the NSA contractor. How? Why? I'm not ready to jump on any traitor vs. patriot bandwagons yet. I want to see more of the hidden part of the iceberg.
Boehner is in a position to do SO MUCH GOOD for America, and he avoids doing 99% of it, and now this ?
Traitor. He took an oath.
By calling Snowden a Traitor —Boehner is saying he agrees with the wire tapping the tracing of calls and the violations of the Constitution.
We won’t see this scandal amount to anything because the politicians are all for it.
Now we know who the Traitor is, He is sitting in the Speakers chair.
I’m not ready to call Snowden a hero nor traitor. I ask, what critical secret is he really divulging? If his intent was truly malicious, people would be dead around the world.
I bet the people calling him a traitor just loved NDAA, that’s the means of tyranny. Hardly a peep on this site. NDAA provided for black hood rendition of citizens to a dark cell in Poland. Let’s all sing God Bless America.
I think I’m very comfortable with the statistical terrorism risk associated with entirely less security of this kind.
Sounds like a plan to me.
Boehner, the best friend of Obama; to me, he’s the person who has failed us all miserably. The best thing that can happen to advance freedom, is to replace this man and so many others, so the government can be washed of the lies, the dirt and it’s embedded corruption. Until that happens; we are that much closer to being numbered. Spying on us. What’s next; the police picking sides of who can say what. Thank you republicans. You have allowed yourselves to be part of the problem. We need a new party. These 2 now are of one. The leaker has my gratitude for coming forward with the truth that these techs can/are getting personal info from anyone they decide to. People who are against him are for government overreach. It’s as simple as that because the 4th Amendment trumps their illegal overreaches.
At this point in the murky coverage of Snowden, I agree with you. This government is so evil, so socialist, so invasive and filled with such liars that Snowden may indeed be a hero.
With this infernal, evil government completing construction of an immense domestic spying facility capable of storing ‘zettabytes’ 3 times anything that is available in the world, I would say that anyone trusting this monolithic monster is a damned fool!
Complicit in this treacherous soft-peddling of this totalitarian project are our entire Congress. They give passes out by the bookletfull to this satan-inspired socialist government.

“to help keep Americans safe and give us tools to help fight the terrorist threat we face.”
Except for the fact that these “tools” didn’t do a thing to stop the Boston bombers - even tho there had been a heads up about these two from Russia a long time ago.
Just shut up Boehner. We’re not buying what you’re selling.
BOEHNER is a traitor to our Constitution. He shouldn’t throw stones. He should grow some.
I agree that what the govt. is doing is wrong, nevertheless, Snowden took an oath of secrecy and broke it. The fact he made a bad choice of who to support does not change that.
What did the guy actually leak? The only thing I have heard is the existence of a system to monitor emails and phone calls that the NSA and Obama claims doesn’t exist, but they do acknowledge that the NSA does monitor phone call “metadata” and email “metadata”.
It was interesting that he snatched a talking point out use when he said not he but congress was informed of the activity. Pundits laying this at Obama’s feet just lost on that one.
Given the crimes and constant attacks committed against the Constitution by this government I'd say those in control of it are the ones committing treason. In my view Snoden is a true American Patriot for exposing them.
