Most real estate transactions now-a-days don’t convey mineral rights. It’s good that your family has owned it for so long.
That’s a real treasure.

mineral rights are owned by most farmers...My husband and I bought a 10 1/2 acre farm, we also at that time aquired the mineral rights....The law in that township said no farm animals unless you had over 10 acres...thats why it was sold and a 10 1/2 acre farm. Also affected our taxes as argiculture and not resident homestead.... This was back in 1985.
