LOL!!
I have great respect for the Catholic Church, warts and all; more so now than ever. But I grew up Protestant, and the subject matter of the Latin rite was verboten in our household. So when my high school English teacher kept putting words like "novena" and "scapular" on our weekly vocabulary list, I complained pointedly, citing the First Amendment (this was in the early 60s). From then on, she graded on the curve, and my scores unless absolutely perfect were always where the B's were separated from the A's. I think the whole class suffered. Then she began dating the gay art teacher. I guess she thought his not making moves on her was because he was a good Christian. We tittered!
Today, I would rush my grandchild into any Catholic organization before any government school or "commoonity" group whatsoever.
I wish more FReepers would tell good stories from their lives, and fewer would churn out their boilerplate, cut-and-paste --- you know what.
Heaven bless you forever! :o)
