Full disclosure: I have worked with Photoshop every day for the past 20+ years.
I have not seen the photo of mom, Obama, little girl, and white guy. The change in tone of mom's arm under the arm could well be just a factor of shadow and reflection. To be sure the image at the link is too small for serious analysis except by those who are already convinced that any photo of Obama's childhood is 'shopped.
The other with grandad and grandma on the bench is probably not Photoshopped. When that picture first surface several years ago we took it apart and put it back together again. It did not exhibit any of the usual "artifacts" of manipulation. This one is likely about a zillionth generation and is not really worth examining. But I would point this out. The "floating hand" in the picture with Obama does not automatically rest on grandma's shoulder without being moved. So the "de-photoshopped" images are more disingenuous than the original.
I don't know that it's FMD's but it sure isn't mama's and it isn't a natural shadow!
Some one messing with us, another story.
Well, I’m an artist, an oil painter to be exact and the color value of the hand under Obama’s arm is much too dark for it to be shadow. It is the same color value as Obama.
The photo of grandma and grandpa on the bench has a much more natural look in the recreated photo’s that were later re-photoshopped by experts. The “original” has the people in an extreme unnatural position that would never be positioned that way by a painter.
In my opinion, the photo’s are FAKE.
Then explain the wonky rock wall.
The whole thing is photoshopped.
I remember the fuss about the NYC photo with the grandparents, but since they probably did go visit him in NY, I don’t see why they would need to fake a pic. And what if gramps were about to put his arm around his grandson but had it up while the photo were snapped? I believe you when you say that one wasn’t shopped.
The other one, there could be a few reasons why it looks like her hand is brown. Maybe she had something over her hand, like a sweater or bag she was carrying, maybe it was a glove or who knows what. Again, there is nothing desirable for the campaign in this photo. So why photoshop it?
