There is zero doubt what the politics and the political purpose of all in the Family was, some on the left wanted more from Archie’s character and was disappointed that some people couldn’t see his true role, but that is what makes propaganda effective, it has to be palatable enough to get delivered, to reach the public.

Children’s TV does the same, it can’t work if it is so obvious that the parents just forbid it, and turn off the TV.

ansel12, you know the truth. Political/Emotional cueing has been the forefront of all media; particuarly, since the beginning of modern print and aired media. It is subtle by increment and has devastated our culture, over the last 50 yrs. The mild push did get a good jump with All in the Familiy. What has followed since, is nothing short of breathtaking. Thank you for pointing out the obvious.
