To: Las Vegas Ron

Are you active in the hobby? I know R/C pilots who could put a 2 lb “payload” on target at 3/4 mile with traditional “Line Of Sight” techniques. The local R/C field has banned “First Person View” flying. http://timpa.org/

Its not improbable, it’s happening.

I was a long time ago, and I’m sure things have changed greatly.

But we’re talking about a moving target here, one that in all probability is traveling at a high rate of speed..

Model planes with "first person view" (where a video camera on the plane feeds back to the controller) would make it viable to kamikaze an airliner. Even if the controller has a 1-in-10 chance of getting a hit, you just try N times (or have N planes) until you succeed.
