I certainly do think it would be in error to leave too late. The traffic jam on 35 was not good and could have been a tragedy.

But, if you have time, it looks to head directly for you, and if you are knowledgeable of weather and have heard what the tornado is like and it clearly is a 5, escape could be worthwhile.

Otherwise, stay put.

An easy solution to this would be every neighborhood building an underground storm shelter. It would keep people from leaving but get them underground.

Escape only works in an urban/suburban area if you’re the only person trying it.
