So if Fox isn’t attending, and neither is Huffpost or AP.. who IS attending?

MSNBC?

Media really has just 2 choices:

- do not attend
- go and report fully on the meeting

To do anything else is to be a ‘lapdog’ press, by all objective views.

I have an idea - how about just going there and recording it and presenting it on TV? As in “not off-the-record”, which is how most everything done by this government should be.

That’s such an asinine statement. What freedom of the press would he mean, when Holder has made it a condition that the meeting must be off the record? That means he expects the fine upstanding men of the press to be his lackeys-continue to be his lackeys, I should say.

Actually, can’t blame anybody from declining.

Since it’s off the record, anything they repeat can and will be used against them in the court of law. Holder wants to circumvent the first amendment by telling secrets to the press, but expecting the press to not repeat it. A trap, IOW.

The press have been letting rat presidents get away with off the record conferences since at least FDR. George M Cohan even did a famous skit about it. (In a benign way. He supported the champagne socialist).

Brad Woodhouse of the DNC tweeted yesterday that any journalists who don't attend this meeting have basically forfeited their right to freedom of the press.

Hate to break it to ol' Brad, but the first amendment applies to ALL citizens, not just those that the politicians "select" as press members. We ALL have the freedom of the press and freedom of speech.

It’s apparent Holder has no problem not telling the truth to the Congress so who expects him to be honest with a gagged press.

So does that leave only right knee-pad WaPo and left knee-pad POLITICO? Who is actually attending?

It was probably a trap anyway, if any of the information got out they’d probably try to prosecute them. I wouldn’t put it past them to leak the information themselves.

Levine would do a better job, but I think Savage would do a more entertaining job.

No doubt about that. And I wouldn't mind seeing Teddy take a bite out of Holder's trousers.

Note to IRS internet monitors: Notice that I said take a bite out of Holder's trousers, not out of his actual leg. Please don't audit me.

Was thinking along similar lines. I've never had any training in law other than a few Perry Mason episodes from the ‘60s. But what can happen if he spills his guts and admits to felonies and major crimes under the conditions he demands and a news agency publishes them? Will this evidence be admissible in court or are they opening a path to slither out of the situation? I know who we are dealing with. All parties involved. A corrupt AG in a corrupt administration. The news media who has been in lockstep 100%. Red flags are flying everywhere on the playing field.

Hmm.. interesting.

Are they screwing over Americans, being chicken, or dissing Holder?
