“Last Thursday, approximately 1,400 adult BSA delegates from around the country gathered in Texas and decided, in a disgracefully lopsided vote”

How about one of these stories include the details of the vote. Is it a secret or something? Like is 1400 BSA delegates all of them that could vote in the US, or some of them or what? Or what was the exact vote total? One story said ‘60%+’ but I didn’t see anything more about it. You would think you would have seen something from somebody that voted against it if nothing else.

I’m sure it’s as secret as the harassments of good people by the alphabet agencies including the tax people and for the same reasons.

BSA has been hijacked. It cannot recover while its former leaders continue to cower.

WE out here who have nothing to do with BSA due to gender, find that the lack of successful former BS and eagle scouts fighting against this speaks to a lack of courage and conviction, actually.

THis is a hugely demoralizing move in our country. Where are these politically correct people?

10 “Last Thursday, approximately 1,400 adult BSA delegates from around the country gathered in Texas and decided, in a disgracefully lopsided vote”. ...

The only way we are going to learn anything of the details of the vote is if someone on the National Executive Board or 1 of the 1,400 voting delegates who were there decides to leak it. So far, that hasn't happened. The number of voting delegates has long been established policy within BSA. The delegates come everyone of BSA's ~294 local councils.

Remember the 11-man panel that was secretly selected by BSA National 3 years ago to make a decision on this very issue? Many of the homosexualists within BSA complained bitterly that they did not know who they were, how they were selected, or have input into their committee.

7/17/2012 – BSA spokesman Deron Smith announced that after a 2-year study, an 11-member special committee returned a unanimous decision that BSA should retain its current membership policy excluding open homosexuals and atheists. The committee had been formed discreetly by top BSA leaders in 2010 and consisted of professional scout executives and adult volunteers. Many veteran volunteer scouters bitterly complained of the lack of transparency in how this committee was selected and operated.

And we all thought it was settled. Next thing we know ...

1/28/2013 – Six months after announcing that BSA would retain its exclusive membership policy, BSA spokesman Deron Smith announced that the BSA National Executive Board (~ 72 members) was prepared to vote on the “local option” resolution at its next business meeting on 2/06/2013.

That created a firestorm ...

2/06/2013 – BSA spokesman Deron Smith announced that the NEB postponed its vote on the “local option” at today’s NEB business meeting. He also said it would be brought before the entire National Council voting membership for a vote at the next annual national council business meeting over May 22-24 at the Gaylord Texan Hotel, in Grapevine, TX.
