You know, I don’t know much about the real character of Boston.

I suppose that it depends where you are. If some jerk started chopping on someone in the older Irish Catholic ‘hoods, they would probably have taken them down.

Not near the colleges.

I can tell you that out West here, I’ve been shot at by and shot back at illegal aliens on ranches near the border.

Once had an ex- Marine neighbor stop two Mexican toughs trying to knife a guy with his carbine. He had a bayonet on it, one of the idiots walked into it. Arrested at the hospital.

What was hilarious was another neighbor was upset that he did that - called it “macho” - couldn’t even pronounce it right. I laughed at him, said the guy prevented a murder.

His wife later left him. She couldn’t stand living with wet rag like that. Didn’t feel safe.

You’re comment sounds like the simpering liberal’s complaint.

It isn’t “macho” to find your courage and stop a crime. It’s normal.

What England is now is...abnormal.

And perhaps gone.

Firstly, I am no liberal.

Secondly, what I have been referring to is the OTT posturing (’yeah, if they’d done it in my town, well i tell ya.........’) from some here and elsewhere in the US towards the UK and the people who didnt act in Woolwich. Its grandstanding, comes across as boastful posturing and when you read it 1000 times, it gets tiresome. There are equally times very recently when Americans were derided as cowards and wimps in the UK. So courage or lack of it isnt exclusive to one nation.
