Great Britain has a higher violent crime rate than the US (except for murder). Rapes, muggings and burglary (majority of which is live) are all higher, in the case of live burglary, much higher. You might be able to defend yourself in theory, but you can't defend yourself in reality with a gun.

Also you are not allowed to defend your property with force. There is a mix of state laws here about that, but even in states without castle doctrine, there are lots of cases where people can defend their property with force.

GB has a higher rate because of classification. We have violent crimes which arent classed in other countries as violent crime. I have quoted a famous ‘boat weather’ offence which only the UK classes as violent crime.

The US has sixteen times the gun murder rate of the UK and four times the murder rate. Rape rates are actually about equal.

No guns?. Wrong. Havent you read the seven million previous posts where I have told people here about the UK gun laws?. I am a gun owner btw.

Not allowed to defend property?. Complete tosh. Not only is that not true (where did this US myth start?), I KNOW it to be untrue because I was myself the victim of a 2008 burglary and attack, where I used force to defend myself and my property, as well as three family members.

No offence, but this is the type of myth I have to correct almost daily on this site.
