They’re hoping the jury will let her off.

Kaitlyn Hunt's parents say that the younger girl's parents demanded that Kaitlyn be arrested because they can't come to terms with the fact that their teenage daughter had a relationship with another girl.

Excellent reason.

Equality extends to statutory rape laws.

I don’t trust the news article claim that the parents are only upset about the relationship being between another female, but having nothing to do with her 14 year old being sexually preyed upon and corrupted by an 18 year old adult.

The younger girl was reported as being 15 before. I wonder if this means the relationship started when she was 14.

I read this case is being tested to bring the age of consent down. Perverts have been trying to do this for a while.

I’m taking bets she gets away with it.

If she were a boy she would get the 15 years, but no jury today will lock up this woman.

Smells like a setup - the homo / pedophile mafia using a cute young chick to advance their agenda. They couldn’t have picked anyone that looks less like a sex offender.

Obviously she will not go to prison. A male would. End of discussion.

I’m against the “homosexual agenda” but its wrong to try to put an 18 year old girl away for 15 years or any amount of jail time for having a sexual relationship with a 14 year old girl. Perhaps probation, maybe.

But this is an incredible double standard. If it was an 18 year old girl with a 14 year old boy, no one would think twice. In fact, usually on these threads, everyone thinks its a big joke if a 30 or 40 year old woman beds a 14 year old boy. This is punishing this girl for being a lesbian, not for having a relationship with a 14 year old.

I don’t see anything coming of this if both were underaged when this happened.

The irony is that it is in a few ways reminiscent of the heavy handed 1999 lesbian movie “But I’m a Cheerleader”.

Production cost $1m, made $200,000 gross.

If she is over 18 and thus an adult, and her victim is only 14 then I would call that rape as a 14 year old is below the age on consent.
