You guys who were kids in the 1950s are so lucky.
That was an America I will never know.
I caught a fleeting glimpse of it in the 1970s, I turned to look and it was gone.
I was in the program as a youth from 1964-1972 in the deep South. Yes, those were the halcyon years before the social turmoil of the 1960s took effect and BSA peaked its membership in 1973 at 4 million.
I graduated HS in '73. That summer while framing houses, I was introduced to "The Dark Side of the Moon." That will always be my gold standard for PF.
